The Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-rufai, has spared some house owners who erected structures on lands belonging to the state government in the ongoing demolition of exercise.
The area is dominated by hotels, a cement distribution depot, computer and electronics distribution outlets, among others.
A homeowner, Nadabo Chanchangi, said the governor did not only reverse the demolition order but also distanced himself from the planned exercise especially on structures erected on school lands along constitution road.
“Yes, the governor has reversed the demolition of our building marked for demolition and has distanced himself from such plan.
“The planned demolition of buildings along Constitution Road which included two of my buildings, was said to be initiated by a top local government official and not the governor. So, we thank the governor for taking such measures,” Mr. Chanchangi added.
